I’m an Executive Communication Coach
When you communicate with others, there are three main elements: what you say (content), how you say it (delivery), and what you’re telling yourself (mindset). I help you with all three.
Whether you want to land new business, build trust with clients / direct reports, or pitch to the board, I’m here to assure that you harness the power of clear communication to elevate your leadership.
“I’m a firm believer in the fact that you learn more while having fun and that’s what this was… Bill is personable and has the moxie to make the agenda work for a diverse class. He delivered. He’s a popular instructor who has a following at Credit Suisse.”
— Ann Taylor, BA Manager Americas, Fixed Income Strategic Delivery, Credit Suisse
I’m passionate about the work that I do, and love sharing the tools, techniques and support that allow people to find their voices and elevate their leadership presence.
After getting my MFA from the University of Washington’s Professional Actor’s Training Program, I moved to New York City and found myself at Credit Suisse as an IT Project Portfolio Manager. where I saw how many people in tech struggle with communication.
One evening while teaching acting classes at Queens College, I had my “lightbulb moment.” I realized that the skills I was teaching were exactly the same skills that could help those introverted tech folk back at work. Within a few weeks, I led a series of workshops to empower women in IT to gain leadership presence to advance in their careers. The program was a big hit, and I knew I’d found my passion - combining the skills that I learned as an actor and teacher with those I’d learned in the corporate world.
In 2011, I launched my practice working with tech companies and startups coaching founders to pitch for funding, helping introverted engineers transform into engaging speakers, and enabling new managers to motivate their teams.
Since then, I’ve expanded my work to include executive coaching (ICF Certified), and have had the pleasure of working with hundreds of people and teams globally within all levels of organizations from career starters to C-suite executives. Organizations include: AMEX, AMC Networks, BCG, Capital One, Deloitte, Droga5, Harvard Business School, Hearst Media, Mailchimp, Metlife, Momofuku, Morgan Stanley, R/GA, Shutterstock, School of Visual Arts, Spotify and the United Nations.
